WrestleMania 30
Possible Matches 2014
-
Match Card Plus Conf. Matches
------------------------------------
For weeks, there have been rumors about the potential WrestleMania 30 card. Following the Elimination Chamber PPV, a few of the top matches have become official, while others are falling into place.
The latest edition of “Monday Night Raw” came on one of the biggest days in WWE history. Not only did Hulk Hogan return and declare that he would be the host of WrestleMania, but it marked the launch of the WWE Network. On such an important show, the WWE put the wheels in motion for its top event of 2014.
Only two matches are set in stone, but several others are falling into place. Below is a prediction for the WrestleMania 30 match card.
WrestleMania 30 Match Card Prediction
Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H
The WWE World Heavyweight championship is likely to elude Bryan at WrestleMania 30. The most popular superstar in the WWE confronted Triple H on Monday, demanding the two face off at the year’s biggest PPV. When the COO laughed at the proposal, Bryan reiterated his feelings in the middle of the ring, calling Triple a “coward.”
Many fans have called for Bryan to win the title at WrestleMania, but the storyline makes sense for Bryan to want a match with Triple H. Whenever Bryan gets a chance at claiming the belts, he gets screwed by The Authority. If CM Punk did not leave, he would likely be the one facing Triple H.
Only two matches are set in stone, but several others are falling into place. Below is a prediction for the WrestleMania 30 match card.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Batista
Even though fans have expressed their displeasure with the match, it appears that the WWE will go through with their original plan. Batista continues to get booed mercilessly, even as the babyface. There were rumors that Daniel Bryan might be inserted into the title picture, but his confrontation with Triple H on Monday makes that very unlikely.
Since winning the Royal Rumble, Batista has been treated like a heel by the crowd. Unless Orton has a sudden face turn, the fans in New Orleans might boo throughout the entire match.
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
There have been rumors for weeks that Lesnar would challenge the streak, and it became official with The Undertaker’s appearance on Monday. Paul Heyman was standing in the middle of the ring with Lesnar, demanding his client get a title shot. When the “Deadman’ interrupted the men, he signed a contract for the match, but not before putting his opponent through a table.
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
This match was foreshadowed at the Royal Rumble when the Wyatt Family cost Cena his title match against Orton. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan interfered in the Elimination Chamber, all but ensuring this WrestleMania match would take place. Cena called out the Wyatt Family on Monday, only to be beat up and suffer a leg injury.
Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins
The breakup of The Shield is imminent, and it only makes sense for them to face off on the WWE’s biggest stage. Ambrose had a disagreement with the other two members, after disappearing during their match at Elimination Chamber. It appears the group’s feud with the Wyatt Family may not be done, and the split could happen when the two factions next meet in the ring.
Jack Swagger vs. Cesaro
Both of The Real Americans have been hearing a lot of cheers, but Cesaro is one of the more over wrestlers in the WWE. He and Swagger showed the first signs of a split on Monday, and they could have a feud that culminates at WrestleMania. Expect Zeb Coulter to remain with Swagger, since he won’t become a babyface.
Intercontinental Champion Big E vs. Bad News Barrett
With no clear-cut favorite to challenge Big E for the Intercontinental Championship, Bad News Barrett might be the best option. He was featured prominently at the last PPV, but hasn’t wrestled since debuting his new gimmick. If the WWE is serious about making Barrett’s character successful, his return to the ring could come in a title match at WrestleMania.
Tag Team Champions The New Age Outlaws vs. The Usos vs. Cody Rhodes & Goldust
The long rumored match between Cody Rhodes and Goldust might not be in the cards for WrestleMania, considering the two have shown no signs of splitting up. The Usos have been having good matches and seem ready to take the tag team titles off Road Dogg and Billy Gunn.
